Parental controls.

RFFL's platform blocks minors from creating accounts. If you'd like to add a device-level restriction as an extra layer, follow the steps below for your child's device. Questions? Contact us.

iPhone & iPad (iOS)

These steps use Apple Screen Time, which is built into every iPhone and iPad. No additional app is required.

1
Enable Screen Time
  • Open the Settings app on your child's iPhone or iPad.
  • Tap Screen Time.
  • Tap Turn On Screen Time, then tap Continue.
  • Select This is My Child's iPhone/iPad.
2
Set a parent passcode
  • When prompted, create a Screen Time Passcode.
  • Choose a 4-digit code that only you know.
  • This prevents your child from changing the settings.
3
Block access to the RFFL website
  • In Screen Time, tap Content & Privacy Restrictions.
  • Enable Content & Privacy Restrictions (toggle ON).
  • Tap App Store, Media, Web, & Games > Web Content.
  • Choose Limit Adult Websites.
  • Under Never Allow, tap Add Website.
  • Enter rffl.co.
4
Block access to a charity's website Optional

RFFL technology is sometimes embedded directly into a charity's own website. If you want to block access to a specific charity's site, follow the same steps in Step 3 and enter the charity's domain instead of rffl.co.

5
Monitor Safari and website usage Optional
  • Go to Screen Time > See All Activity.
  • Check the Websites section to see which domains were visited.
  • Confirm that your child hasn't accessed restricted platforms.

If you believe a minor has already created an account, contact us at support@rffl.co and we will deactivate it.

Android

These steps use Google Family Link, a free parental controls app from Google available on the Play Store.

  • Install Google Family Link for Parents from the Play Store.
  • Create a Google account for your child if they don't already have one.
  • Link your child's account to yours by following the setup instructions in the app.

  • On your child's Android device, install Google Family Link for Children & Teens.
  • Sign in using the child's Google account.
  • Complete the setup to sync the child's device with parental controls.
2
Block access to the RFFL website via Chrome
  • Open Google Family Link on the parent's phone.
  • Tap your child's profile.
  • Tap Manage Settings > Google Chrome.
  • Select Try to block explicit sites.
  • Tap Manage sites > Blocked.
  • Tap Add a Website, then enter rffl.co.
3
Block access to a charity's website Optional

RFFL technology is sometimes embedded directly into a charity's own website. If you want to block access to a specific charity's site, follow the same steps in Step 2 and enter the charity's domain instead of rffl.co.

4
Disable installing third-party browsers Optional

To prevent workarounds using other browsers:

  • Go to Family Link > Controls > Device permissions.
  • Tap Google Play > App approvals.
  • Require approval for all app installs.
  • Block or uninstall any browser apps other than Chrome.
5
Monitor Chrome and website usage Optional

Google Family Link offers limited visibility into web activity, but you can:

  • Review Chrome browsing history on your child's device.
  • Check to see which domains were visited.
  • Confirm that your child hasn't accessed restricted platforms.
